In this section we want to give you some information
about the different types of balloons available and how to care for them
We sell Foil balloons, Latex balloons & Deco Bubble balloons
these are all made of different materials but all share something in
common - They are all delicate items of beauty,
they are not toys and can all be burst if they come into contact
with something sharp or rough
Foil Balloons can give days of enjoyment and
pleasure if looked after and treated correctly
Change to Temperature
A helium filled foil balloon does not like changes to temperature.
A foil balloon filled with helium exposed to cold air will
begin to appear soft as if deflating, this caused by the helium gas molecules
in the balloon contracting. When returned to a warm room the helium
reverts to normal and the balloon will restore its normal shape.
A foil balloon filled with helium exposed to heat will cause the helium
inside the foil begin to expand which can cause theseam of the balloon to split.
Balloon Floating Time
A foil balloon filled with helium would normally be
expected to last for 3-5 days provided
it hasn't been exposed to changes in temperature or damaged
in anyway however they can last much longer than that,
we have had several customers who have had foils last for months!
Outdoor Use
We don't normally recommend Foil balloons for outdoor use.
Unfotunately a Foil balloon taken outside is open to alldifferent
kinds of weather conditions. As already mentioned temperature changes
can affect the foil balloon, rain will causethe balloon to drop
and of course the wind, even the lightest breeze can cause
the balloon to come into contact with something sharp or rough
such as a wall or garden hedge or tree all of which can burst the balloon.
We do not suppy Foil balloons for release as this is not good
for the environment, the material they are made from is not
Biodigradeable, they can cause problems if they come
into contact with power lines
Change to Temperature
Although the effect is not as dramatic as on a Foil balloon,
a helium filled Latex balloon does not like changes to temperature.
The molecules of the helium gas will expand or contract in hot or cold conditions
Balloon Floating Time
An untreated helium filled Latex balloon has a limited float time,
a standard 11" Latex balloon filled with helium would
not be looking at its best after 12 hours
We treat all our helium filled Latex with a Gel product called Hi-Float,
this extends the life and float time of the latex balloon giving
you a great looking, long lasting display - approx 3-5 days
Outdoor Use
Just like a Foil balloon, a Latex balloon filled with helium is
at the mercy of the weather conditions. Even the lightest breeze
can cause the balloon to come into contact with something sharp or
rough such as a wall, fence or vegetation all of which can burst the balloon.
The quality Latex balloons that we sell are 100% biodegradeable so
can be used for Balloon releases. The Latex, which is a natural
product, breaks down over time and causes no damage to the environment.
